Have you tried cutting gluten out of his diet? this sounds exactly like me...I had the same problems since I was a baby but was misdiagnosed as an eating disorder (they thought the nausea and inability to eat much was all in my head). Finally diagnosed coeliac at age 21 xxx

Ok my 4 year old dribbles and has sores on his chin, mouth breaths and has delayed speach and struggles even to say his own name, gags on food and takes him self off to be sick before finishing his food . About 18 ago he was waking up on the night chocking and being sick which thankfully the night time sickness has stopped . Had visits to a peadiactrics last year who said he as enlarged adenoids and that was prob causing a form of sleep apnia that was causing the nighttime troubles but didn't meet nhs criteria to have them removed and to go bk to the doctors this April if things ate no better. We have done that and seen at ENT today who said that he didn't know what to do as the nhs would not let him remove them as he still didn't meet the criteria. He starts school in September and still falls asleep during the day sometimes is dribbling etc . I don't know where to go from here and advice would be great

Hi I am going through exactly the same thing with my son, now 12 but he has been like this since he was a toddler. We have just been refered to a Gastroentirologist recently. He was on meds for reflux but that didn't seem to make it go completely. There is a condition called eosonophilic oesophogitis where certain trigger foods cause a delayed reaction in kids sometimes days after. They tend to have issues with eating, trouble swallowing, vomiting, coughing while eating, having to drink between mouthfuls are some of the issues. My son described it as it is like he has a door in his throat and sometimes it is open and the food goes down ok, and sometimes it shuts and the food gets stuck. He then has to induce vomitng to get the food out.He has also been running off to the loo like this since he was 4. He gets a ' look' on his face and stops eating and you can tell what is coming next. The Dts thought it might be a hiatus hernia but 2 bariums showed nothing untoward wrong. The only way to diagnose eosonophilic oesophogitis is with an endoscopy and biopsies which look for more than 50 white blood cells present in the osophogus which normally should not be there. These are caused by consuming food/ foods which the child is allergic to, but because the reaction is a delayed one it is harder to detect. The cells inflame the throat causing scarring and this causes the dysphagia ( trouble swallowing) This is what I am trying to get the Drs to check for woth my son as he is typically atopic ( allergic ) . My son has year round rhinitis, mouth breathes and many allergies including pets, dust, tree and grass pollens, foods and asthma since he was 1. Also in young children failure to thrive or being small for age, sleep difficulties, tummy aches and lots of ear/ throat infections are very common as well as what you mentioned. I hope you get some answers and us too ! It's been a long road !

this is normal I think cause I am about the same weight as u and my thighs are really big as well and my hips sick out

The best thing to do is have a look at her bottom at night when it feels itchy. You can see the little pests wriggling about. We have an ongoing problem with our 4 year old.

is the itching worse at night? I noticed my 12 year old daughter was itching back there throughout the day and night. I checked her bottom one afternoon because she was in distress but found nothing. Googled her symptoms when she woke up one night with it being particularly itchy and found out that if the itching is worse at night it's probably worms. Checked bottom again before she went to sleep and saw loads of them crawling out, she had a pretty bad infestation. Took her to the doctor the next day and confirmed it as threadworms. Hope this helps.

my 3 year old son wont eat any cooked food only some fresh food hes never eaten bread he lives on cheese, yoghurts ,biscuits, bannanas, grapes and that is about it he is vilently sick when he trys to eat anything else and just shows no interest in any other foods!

Hi there. Seems like your sonsounds just like mine. Mine is 11 and has all the same symptoms of your son. I think my son has Tourette's syndrome. Kids with Tourette's can very well have ADHD too! He has had all these tics, grunts and squeeks since he was 6. I too was told he will grow out of it....he's a nervous child maybe...etc. 5 years on and it's still here. So early this year I bit the bullet took him back to the doctor and insisted on an MRI (just to rule out anything) he also had an EEG. Both results came back clear, thankfully. We are waiting on an appointment with a doc who specialises in Tourete's. We wil have a diagnosis before the summer is over! Best of luck to you, try not to worry.

Ditto! i have a seven year old son who is a carbon copy of your son. I demanded that the GP refer him and we now have had a neurologist appt next month and CAMHS are doing a full assessment and will go into the school in Sept to assess him. If i were you I would go back to your GP and request that he be referred. Bless you and your son, I know exactly what you are going through, good luck!

My son is 9 years old and has been under the hospital for 5 years now we have tried most medicines but are currently using movicol and are up to 12 sachets a day which isn't easy to get him to drink. U have had many occasions where we have had to go to hospital as the pain is that bad and he is being sick yet no-one will do an ultrasound I just keep getting told he is lazy and has a baggy bowel this makes me mad as he well sit on the toilet and try to go everyday but nothing happens. I'm sick of being told to up this medicine and try another after 5 years you would have thought something would work.

Hi I am 14 years old and I have been born with constipation and through out my life Kettering hospital have just given me every medicine out of the bnf book I have the same medicines over and over again.I have not been for 2 months .Now I have Been referred to Leicester royal hospital and I had to wash outs daily with 4 sachets of movicol to soften the poo .I have recently had a biopsy for Hirschsprung's disease, which is to do with the nerves of the bowel, but my results came back clear but I am going up surgery for an hour for a operation called a mace which is the same of wash out but you injecting water from the top because they have proven my large bowel doesn't work but my small bowel works a mace stands for 'Malone ante grade Colonic enema' or some people call it an 'ace' .What have during the operation well they bring you appendix and stitch it to the wall of the skin and they place a small balloon for heeling and they leave catheter for eight weeks after eight week and they remove the Catheter and the balloon they give you an stopper which you leave in every day just to stop the hole from closer .The nurses teach the patient and the parents how to perform the wash out with he tube through the hole and how to inject water through the tube and into the bowel .when you do the treatment you sit on the toilet and all the poo of comes out in one motion .Basically it another version of what health freaks have but your doing it through the top end of the patients bowel. The negative side of this operation is that if you DO NOT PUT IN THE STOPPER THE HOLE WILL CLOSE.But your patient will still have to take movicol .Hope this information is very useful from my experiences.

My daughter is 2 1/2. she has not had a poo for a week even though she eats lots of fruit veg ceareals. but during the week she has been sick in the nite 3times and not even known about it till she wakes up. and I find it strange that I had not heard her cos I wake with every noise. she was last sick sat nite and managed to have a poo Sunday morn twice. but she has gone off her food and drink. she does not seem to look ill but she was quiet Sunday but perked up today and she saying she is fine.

im 17 and this is the first i have ever had chickenpox. I was feeling sick since saturday morning, i slept the whole day away. I had a fever, back pains and i felt dizzy and light headed. I really wasnt aware i had chickenpox untilI I woke up on Monday and see my face covered with blisters as i just thought i had a viral infection as viral infections were something i used to get alot as a child. Today is now the fourth day of having chickenpox and im not itchy and i feel better. Calamine lotion and cotton wool helped me stop itchying. im no longer feeling sick and im eating much better.

But I assure you'll get better because my sister suffered from an eating disorder, but soon got to enjoy food without having a constant fear of gaining weight. :D Don't worry :D

Hi,I am in the United States and would like to help you. There is nothing to be embarrassed about. Pin worms happened by eating meat that is not properly cook or by coming in contact with contamited water or soil orally. Like not properly washing your hands then biting your nails. it itches at night as that js when the female comes out and lays eggs. Disgusting yes. They are allergic to garlic and eating large loads will kill them. Really though you need to see a doctor. Tell your parents they will understand. They know raising a child this is normal.

Sorry for typos using phone. Also am a Pediatrician for Children's Hospital of Birmingham in the states.

My lil boy is 20 months and as bin struggling to do a poo for past 4-5 days however today he has been being sick aswell I was wondering if the 2 are linked and if so what should I do about it

Hi, I have recently caught head lice and I hate them! I wouldn't advise to use chemicals because they are expensive and as you have said, the headlice get used to them. Simply wet your hair and put conditioner in it and run a nit comb through it. Hope this has helped xox

hi amy, thats a long tym, i sufferd with them wen i was younger and had them for 4 years . the best thinng to do is get ur parents to take u to ur local health nurse like mine did and 2 or 3 treatments frm them youl be nit free !!!!!!:) x
