wait till the scan comes back to you and meanwhile keep e very close eye on her. Also give her a good diet and wash her Vagina regulary in the bath.

hi my daughter is 14 years old, she had bad lower abdominal pains for a couple of days before it moved to the lower right side, and she was very tender to touch. On recommendation from our GP who I contacted by phone just as surgery was closing, we took her to A + E. A dipstick test of urine showed a slight trace of something but as they were concerned with the right side pain they decided to admit her incase it was her appendix. Another urine sample taken the following morning on request by the surgical team showed that it was positive. She was started on a 3day course of Trimethoprim, and given paracetomal and codeine. She has been off the antibiotics for 4 days now and she doesn't feel any better and is still having pain. Although she is eating she feels full and has lost 4lbs in weight in just over a week. We have put in another urine sample that has been sent away to be tested but haven't received any results yet. What should I do now.

Hi! I'm a 14 year old girl, and as far I can say, I haven't had any of the aforementioned symptoms of UTI...here's the story: I went to my doctor's for a routine checkup, adn when they tested my urine sample, my doctor came back to me and asked me to do another test. So, three weeks later, I tested again, and this time, they sent it to a lab. I got a glimpse of the test order--the box checked was one for 'urinary culture and sensitivity'. On the bottom of the paper was a handwritten note that went SOMETHING like this: 'DX: ...Leukocutes'. I pressed my dad for answers, but he only said soemthing about glycerin in my urine. I looked up everything on the computer and came across UTI. Could somebody please tell me what's going on, even when nobody else will tell me? Knowing what's wrong would help me in s many ways. Thanks for reading this!

Around this age you should be encouraging you son to pull back his foreskin, no-one told me this until my son was 3 and the advice came from my sister (she has 2 older son's) it maybe that the end has become so tight that it has caused the usual shape.

Maybe, now its a year later, if the symtons are still the same. Defernatly go back and say that you have had these serious symtons for 3 years, i want you to do something about it. If they do another test and the results come back 'A OKAY' then ask your doctor why you have these symtons!:)

the medication is called Desmopressin. My daughter was on it for a long time with little effect, but i have heard of other people who have had good results with them. The only draw back tends to be as soon as you stop taking them the bedwetting starts again.

my son wets the bed and the reason why the urine smells sooo strong is because she is dehydrated!! water is the key and alot of it through the day. at least 1200 mls

Hello! My 2.6 yrs old boy has had 4-5 UTIs in the last 6 months. He was prescribed different antibiotics and he improves but in two or three weeks after the course the symptoms come back. At the moment he has UTI-like sypmtoms-fever, loss of apetit and pain when passing urine but his urine looks fine- no unusual smell or colour, not cloudy or dark. His penis looks normal too-no soreness or redness or discharges. He has had a kidney scan and results were normal. Now he is waiting to be seen by an urologist. How can I help him meanwhile. P.S. 3 weeks ago with the same symptoms his urine sample was negative for infection. And his foreskin is not retaracted.

Hi, I'm 23. I am suffering from majority of the symptoms stated above I mean I have cloudy urine, it really burns during and after urinating. The last two times however I have noticed a blood after urinating. Quite stressful really.. The after burning sensation was reduced when I wiped myself with water straight after urinating. I have been feeling sick as well! I have just read the threads above and just seen that u must treat constipation quickly to avoid UTI. I have been quite stressed recently with having to move away from home to go to uni.. Which had affected my system quite a fair bit. Erm.. I suffered from constipation lady week also had a milder form of UTI, I thought it went away but it came back today! Not a nice feeling at all.. Especially when your Trina to sleep n have an early start in the morning!

please dont suffer in silence, tell your mum or someone you trust and get to the GP you dont have to show your mum but will proberly have to show the GP so find one you do like.its proberly something so simple to treat, and when its been treated you will feel so much better.please dont leave this any longer get it sorted.you dont have to go to a GP you can go to a GUM clinic at your local hospital.dont know if your sexually active so it may be worth getting checked out if you are.

I agree with Jo. If it's bugging you, try sliding your foreskin back slightly before you urinate so that it opens a little at the end. That way the urine has a nice easy way out and won't inflate your foreskin. It'll also help you to control the direction of your urine more easily.

My 2 year old boy has a white substance in his urine which looks similar to sugar which hasnt disolved. he also has white marks in his pants, we have just started potty training so dont know how long he has had it. he doesnt seem to have any redness, soreness or problem with passing urine. Just wondering if you can help please.

Hi I, not a dr but does your daughter eat a lt of fish? When my daughter eats fish fingers, or prawns you can smell it very strong in her wee.

My 6 year old daugther is unable to hold her urine. She has to wear a nappy all the time even to school. As a baby (18-24 months) we noticed her urine was very strong and when sneezing and laughing it would squirt out.It took a long time for anyone to listen to us. Been to see doctors, consultants and even had medication given but nothing seems to work. I am very worried about the situation and hope someone has some advice to give me.

Hi my 5yo daughter has had re-current urine infections for 2 and a half years now. She has been up at the hospital every 6 months and was on trimepathrin until oct 2011 when we were sent to a&e by our gp after tests their they said she was on the wrong anti-biotics and put her on cephalexin since then the urine infections have been less re-current she has also had the gamma camera scan and it has shown up all clear. I have looked online and she checks all the boxes for cystitis except the obvious ones (i.e relate to sex) but the Dr is unwilling to check for this as she beliefs it not to be that. Can you sugest anything else that i could do to either stop the infections all together or to get a diagnosis

i have a 19 month old daughter and i think she may have diabetes for some time now, i have taken her to the doctors about it but they didin't want to prick her finger and test her blood and gave me a very small pot to try and catch a small bit of her urine to test but it is impossible to catch anything with a girl as it just dribbles down her legs.she has a few symptoms of diabetes, she is always thirsty and wants drink after drink and it doesn't matter what it is that she's drinking, she gets quite tired a lot, she is soaking through in her nappies all the time from constantly passing urine but thats proberly from the amount of juice shes drinking but soaks through in the night a lot also.she get very sweaty when ever shes sleeping.she also gets itchy pits sometimes and scratches when shes in the bath, she also seems to get poorly quite a lot and very easily.does it seem like she has it or could it be something else? because my doctors are never very helpful.

You need to get her tested right away and even the finger prick will only hurt for a minute. It could cause her serious health problems if left untreated. if you are not satisfied with your Gp get a new one or ask for a second opinion or referral. There is a cream that can be given to numb the are before the prick test and why this has not been given or done is beyond me. Demand more from your gp

im 13 and those where alot of symptoms i had but it took over a year for me to finaly be diagnosed if your doctors wont listen to you go to your closest childrens hospital and explain hope this helps x

i saw you mentioned about it stinging when you have a wee, it may be a urine infection.

my dougheter was 3 years and daily urine 2 times what was a reason

I have had what seems like a UTI about 5 times within the past few months. My doctor has taken a urine sample and it has just come back that it isn't a UTI but there is definitely something going on and that it must be something different. I now need to undergo tests to see what it could be. Have you any idea what it could be?
