Hi kevin, ive had this problem since june, I have been feeling light headed as is in dizzy for example i would be sitting down on the sofa, suddenly when i feel sore in my bum when i stand up to help ease my bum mussel to not scratch.. i get this stunner dizziness an also get pin an needles in my legs an lower back spine. which sometime makes me have hot or cold sweats.along with a very temperamental mood swing.

Hi Raiha, I get pins and needles I thought it was due to kneeling at work I also get back ache. My mood swings are terrible depending on what I eat and hot flushes too. My doctor says that Iam stressed but I have been having the symptoms for over a year. I have started taking tablets for stress and the lightheadedness has gone a bit better. I have to have a camera in my backside to check but my bowel movements have been irregular lately too going from constipation to diarrhoea.

you need to start eating normally 3 meals and 3 snacks a day, you should go to see you GP about the headaches and dizziness and about the fact you feel you need to lose weight because if your over weight then you dont, but if you are over weight then not eating is not the way to go about losing weight. eating better and getting more exercise will help. i suffer with bulimia and i have for 3 years now before that i was anorexic, it ruined my life, i had no energy and i could not control my emotions because i relied on my eating disorder to do it for me and i was miserable. i became depressed and suicidal, please do not let that thought in your head telling you to lose weight gain control because it does not want to help you, it will only harm you if you listen and stop eating normally, its not something you can control, trust me, it will gain control of you and if you dont want to live a messed up life of fear of food, then dont let it take control, everytime you dont eat, it gains control. love yourself and tell yourself something you like/love about yourself everyday or everytime you think something bad about yourself. but what ever you do DO NOT LET SOME THING AS STUPID AND NOT IMPORTANT AS WHAT YOU WEIGHT TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE your beautiful just the way you are.

I was bitten by a tick while walking The West Highland Way. I believe it to be in the nymph stage. The tick was not engorged but around the bite was a red rash about 2-3" in circumference. The tick was removed(maybe the head was still in) and the area washed and treated with a topical antibiotic. The redness seemed to clear up leaving a small dark purple spot where I had been bitten. Symptoms were headaches and sore throat. As we were traveling I did not pay it much mind. Upon returning to Canada I noticed the area around the tick bite began to blister I went to a doctor who gave me doxycycline for 7 days. It was finally starting to clear. I have had a test for lymes done which came back negative although in the past couple of weeks after the antibiotics I have had joint pain and heart palpatations. I returned to my doc who does not seem to think I need any further treatment. I normally do not have headaches, joint pain or any heart problems. Any ideas what I should do from here? The symptoms seem to be subsiding but these came on after the antibiotics.

Curious to know how you got on. I suspect you may have caught recurring fever which is in the Lyme s disease family. It to is caught from tick bites.

I was 11/12 when I got this disease I started getting headaches all the time and I had a high temperature so I went to the doc when I realised there was giant patch of red on my cheeks and it turned out I had slapped cheek x Liya

My daughter is seven, she has blood in her urine, itchy vagina, fever, sickness and headaches. Her blood is 8.6. Cloudy urine too. The doctors have given her antibiotics. Should I be asking for more tests to be done? Thank you

My daughter aged 6 came in to contact with a relative on 14.04.14 who, unknown to us had got shingles. From24.04 she developed a heavy cold, was very irritable, sharp, complained of headaches and was tired. On Friday 02.05. in the morning she woke with at least 15 - 20 spots on her body. The Doctor requested to see her immediately before the surgery got busy and confirmed it was chicken pox. I have used calamine cream and lotion with a liquid antihistamine every 4 hours which, the later has proved very successful.

My daughter Ellie (9months) has severe plagiocephaly and Brachycephaly. I made the decision to pay for the helmet treatment because I knew it was the best and only option to cure the condition but even more so to prevent any possible future problems as a result of this condition. Plagiocephaly causes asymmetry in the face FACT and i was sick to death of so called professionals telling me it wasn't a problem. It was ignored from the start. Ellie had a perfect shape head when she was born. There are a number of things that caused this condition in my daughter: the fact she was born prem by emergency C Section. Prem babies have softer skulls so are easily moulded. The fact she was a good sleeper but as all mums know we are told that we MUST put our babies on their backs to sleep which didn't help her condition. The fact that she had a condition called Torticollis which made her head tilt to one side. This wasn't diagnosed until late even though I kept telling professionals there was something wrong and lastly perhaps the use of bouncers didn't help the matter with her head being on a flat surface again. I am a first time mum and If i had know about this condition earlier I believe I could have most certainly prevented helmet treatment. The problem may have still been there but no where near as severe. The fact that this condition is brushed aside and seen as not important disgusts me. This condition does not sort itself out in time. If you research this condition on the internet and speak to other mothers they listened to the professionals at the time and now regret it as their child's head shape didn't rectify itself at all. This condition can cause asymmetry to the whole face. Already my daughter's ears are misaligned and one eye bigger than the other. It can cause other problems in the future to do with the jaw etc and possible headaches, not forgetting bullying. I made the right decision without doubt to go for this treatment. I, like most parents, did not have £2000 spare - I put this treatment on my credit card as the nhs do not provide this treatment because they say it is a cosmetic matter which I am furious about having paid into the NHS since I was 16 and I am now 35. Lets face it the amount of nhs money that is spent on preventible conditions in this country makes a complete joke out of this statement. It is not cosmetic and I am furious the professionals belittle this increasing problem and have the nerve to lie to parents telling them the condition will sort itself out because it doesn't. Ellie has had the helmet on for just one month and already there is a major difference. I am very happy with my decision and advise anyone in the same situation to go through the same treatment at whatever cost. Miss out on that holiday make cut backs in other areas, just do what you need to do to have this treatment. You will be so thankful you made this decision. Oh and next time a professional of any sort tells you the condition will sort itself out in the future ask them whether they are willing to swear by that statement and to put it in writing. I know what their response will be........There is only a slight natural correction over time but it certainly doesn't sort itself out. Sorry to go on - I just feel so strongly about this subject.

Hi Leyla, Your experience is identical in every way, including our daughters names, to my experience. You have hit bull's eye with every point you have made. I wish GP surgeries were at least allowed to have leaflets displayed so Mums and Dads could get in touch with the private clinics who do have the right answer. I think it is so very cruel of the NHS to send parents away thinking there is nothing for them to worry about. When the darn well know what's available.

Hi Vicky I just wondered how your daughter Ellie was getting on. I know you replied to my comment and said your daughter's situation was very similar to my daughter. I wasn't sure whether you had already started helmet treatment. I would be very interested to know how she's getting on. Ellie's helmet is due to come off next month. She is only 1mm away from being classed as normal. The helmet has worked wonders. x

I have Coeliac Disease, it took 3 decades of constant ill health from birth (gluten in diet from being a very small baby). Symptoms include: balance problems, severe exercise intolerance, catching every virus going around and struggling to get over infections before getting another viral infection, dreadful flu like symptoms, recurring tonsilitis - sore throat, pins and needles sensation (ice burn sensation), breathless, anemia, feeling sick, retching after eating, hungry all the time but yet feel over full and sick after eating, bowel symptoms, hypertension, tachycardia, concentration problems, high temperature all the time, very emaciated, swollen abdomen after eating, sometimes completely swollen with oedema, glomerulonephritis chronic, tremor, dizziness, tinnitus, vertigo, headaches, ATAXIA. But alas 3 decades it took for a diagnosis, I was told I would grow out of it, that I was weak and of poor stock ! and that I was female thus it was attention seeking, mental and all in my head and told not to worry majority of females have mental problems, I was told to go and get a husband and have a baby as that would give me a focus in my life and my symptoms would just go as my focus wasn't on my symptoms !!! Many doctors and decades later minus any self-esteem and confidence I had in myself and the medical world, my medical file was accidently put on the wrong desk, that person's desk was a gastrointestinal registrar researching the connection between anemia and coeliac disease, and at last I got diagnosed. Within 4 weeks I was 100% healthy at last (naturally not eating any processed food), unfortunately I started going down hill again after eating processed foods and I found out the prescription food and other gluten-free items had too much gluten in them for me (I wasn't aware they had any gluten in them, they have since reduced the amount of gluten permitted in the gluten free food), my neurological problems returned and never left, I have moderate ataxia caused by the gluten disorder coeliac disease, the damage has been done, I am strict with my diet, but sadly I am unable to reverse the 3 decades of damage. I am unable to have children because of the health problems. And have osteoporosis also caused by coeliac disease, eyesight problems (blurred vision, double vision, paresthenia, muscle weakness, pyramidal signs, hypertension/tachycardia, low ferritin levels. I urge people to not just think bowel problems for Coeliac Disease or other Gluten Disorders you can have myriad of symptoms mild to severe at anytime, and the sooner you get diagnosed the better, we should not underestimate the damage caused by any Autoimmune disorder including Gluten Disorders. It is quite misleading when the symptoms of Coeliac Disease seem to be bowel only, maybe embarrassing bodies can help by describing that their maybe a myriad of symptoms not related to bowel?
