Itchy could be a problem. You can easily have it removed by a dermatologist. It didnt even hurt when I removed mine. However if it changes color or shape have it checked immediately!

My son is 3 years old. I have CD and he often vomits/suffers with tummy pain and has loose bowel movements. He is also a little hyeractive and often gets itchy rashes on his skin. I had him tested (blood test) for CD and it came back negative. We were then discharged from the hospital (who did the tests). If it isn't CD - what can it be?

Hi Georgia Im 28 and have suffered from Psoriasis for 5 years. My sister and my father both have psoriasis too. I found that the steriod creams from the doctors would only work for a while before the Psoriasis came back back so i started to look into how I could help my skin. I had a nutrition test done to find out if I had any alergies or if i was intollerant to any food. I found out that im intollerant to cows milk and most acidic foods lke lemons, tomatoes. Since I reduced my intake of these foods my skin is alot ess itchy, hot and red. I also put sea salt in my bath (holland & barrat £2.49 for a box and it really helps.

Maybe rub talcom powder on them. This helps for me.

There are creams that may state for children but still contain ingredients that irritate her skin. Everyone, & every child's skin is different. You can do an allergy test to find out what's triggering the eczema, or a patch test to see what ingredients in moisturizer she's allergic to. Burning skin is not that common, so may have to see specialist (PD in child dermatology) if condition persist. Meantime, a hypoallergenics authority has answered some of my questions on sensitive skin product on eczemablues.com, some of the answers should help.

when i was washing my 2 year olds penis i only slightly pull the skin back to splash with water whilst in bath to keep clean, when i only slightly pull it back he's getting looks like puss filled glands,i noticed it one day because his penis looked twice its normal size so when i pulled skin back and put slight pressure on the penis alot of green puss came out, this doesnt hurt him, it leaves a little hole where it was, then five other times the puss is like hard and you can see it under his skin i leave i it comes out weeks later like a hard white stork, like a wite head thats gone hard but its ling like a vein but white and is visable from the outside of his skin, ive taken him to 2 nurses and they just say its infection and one doctor said it was scum build up, h's got 2 now they've been there for 2 weeks now its hard to touch i can see and feel the ridge under his skin, when i pull his skin back it lookes like a white head at the side of the head between the head and the skin. can you shed any light on this.

my sons 8 and last week complained of his willy being a bit itchy and felt funny when he had a wee. I had to take him to the walk in centre as when I had a look the end of his penis had ballooned up when he was weeing - the wee did come out though. a doctor said he didn't think he had an infection but prescribed some canisten cream but advised me to go to gp asap as his foreskin was extremely tight. the gp was quite dismissive and had a quick look and said there was some adhesions on the end of this penis suggesting a long term problem probab made worse as he suffers from dry skin and there s eczema on his dads side of the family. she just said come back in 2 weeks if still a problem which I wasn't happy about. I rang an nhs helpline and she said go back to see a different gp and ask to be referred to a paediatrician - I don't know what to do especially after reading other comments on here that its not anything to worry about. his penis is still ballooning when he wees but not as bad.

Hi Marie. You were wise to get him checked out but there is nothing to worry about. Ballooning when weeing is usually a sign that his foreskin is beginning to detach from the glans of the penis. This will continue for a while and then he should start trying to retract his foreskin. The best place to do this is when he takes a warm bath as the water softens the skin. He should be gentle but brave and mustn't use soap while he is doing this. Penile adhesions are common and do not need to be sorted out in boys of his age. When he reaches puberty they are usually sorted naturally. I hope this helps. Take care and keep in touch. (I am surprised at your experiences with GP's but please forgive them. On a daily basis they are dealing with patients with life threatening illnesses so little boys "willies" could well be deemed as trivial!)

My son is 5 years old and he is biting the skin around his nails all the way down his fingers... He used to just bite his nails and then stopped that for awhile but now he started again and its the skin all the way down his finger.. I have tried asking him why he does it and he just tells me he cant help it.. I have also tried putting bandaides on all fingers but he takes them off.. I have tried putting soap and hot sauce on them but he just eats right through it.. He was diagnosed with ADHD and ODD when he was 4 so I dont know if that has anything to do with it.. My question is what can I do to get him to stop before he has no skin at all?? his fingers are already raw and red and they look bad.. I really need help because i dont know what to do anymore.

You might have thrush, got the dr and they can give you special cream/tablet to clear it all up xo

Sounds like "thrush". You can buy cream over the counter at a chemist. No prescription from you doctor is required. Can be common in females, is natural.

Hi Danielle. Tight foreskins are normal at this age and there is no harm in him trying to pull it back as part of his normal bathing regime. Gradually it will loosen more. Soap could be causing irritation so you could try using mild baby soaps on him. Make sure he dries the area properly after a bath. Snugly fitting soft simple briefs may also be worth trying so that the foreskin doesn't rub. The pimply bits are nothing to worry about. Hope this helps.

My 4 year old son gets an itchy bum from time to time - i think its from not wiping properly but now im always gona be worried its worms! We use the big brand nappy, and general skin cream. Usually clears itching up in a day. Dont wash with soap, just warm water. Dont use any bubbles in bath basically everything seems to make it worse but the tub of skin cream.

Well there is a couple of options you have to minumise it, you could shave it but it can irratate the skin and make it itchy and you could also cut yourself (OUCH). If you do decide to shave please just be EXTREMLY CAREFUL! To just tame it abit you could trim it with scissors, this is a better option as it doesnt irrate the skin, but there is still that chance of cutting yourself. You could also use hair removal cream but i would only use it on the outer part of the vagina because the inner lips and vagina hole are VERY sensitive and the cream would make them sore. Well hope this helps, good luck =)

Hi michelle I've personally had eczema from a very young age and have helped reduce the irritation by changing my diet. I found that eating ready meals (with all their preservatives) and spicy foods are very bad for my skin also drinking fizzy drinks like coke also bring out the eczema, but worst of all if I chop a tomato or lemon without gloves the skin becomes inflamed and highly irritated! So with all this in mind please make sure your daughter steers clear from heavily spiced or packaged food as it sounds like her case is very extreme. I would also recommend trying homeopathy and hemp creams which cool the irritated skin dramatically! hope I could help! X

my son had eczema when he was a baby and it mainly cleared up just an outburst now and again. Then when he was 9 he got it really bad and after 8 months of different steriod creams I insisted on a referral. Onto other creams monitored closely, but with no success, which ended up with him being hospitalised for a week. Has improved tremendously, 3 months on still on creams (protopic, Epaderm 50/50 & dermol), with monthly checks at hospital. Moisturise regular and don't use soaps or shampoos.

Simply Soothing anti itch wet wipes help correct the ph of the skin helping friendly fauna and discouraging unwanted microbes. Sometimes creams can make an itchy bum worse as the cream inhibits the skins ability to normalise itself.

my 4 year old has had itchy vulva and also just above anus for a long time despite trying thrush creams and other itchy skin creams. went to docs, thrush swab came up negative, this was months ago. since then still red, though sometimes better than other days...not alot of discharge - but tonight as we have seen on a few occasions she has these white bits on vulva which are almost like bits of white soap (have always taken this to be thrush!) what is it?!! tissue paper? seems more like bits of soap texture. trying to keep cream free as is hard to understand whats going on if applied some. eg if i check in morning and see white i assume it may be down to sudocrem applied night before! going to have to go back to gp but getting fed up with it. also scared if is thrush, is it risk to her fertility in later life? she has just started school and worried this is affecting her mood, must be stressful having this and we cant seem to resolve it.

Ok first question, did your Boyf use a condom? Aside from all the usual std and pregnancy stuff people will say there is this answer... Apparently a lot of men actually carry thrush (candida) in the folds of skin around thier penis, so it could be that by breaking the skin in your anus he's given you thrush which if you go to your gp or chemist and get some thrush cream you can get it cleared up in a jiffy. You'd do well though to get your Boyf to use the cream too, otherwise with or without using a condom you can just pass the thrush back and forth to each other. (Guys don't like the idea that they have thrush on thier willys so just say no sex till you use the cream) However I'd suggest that whilst you both get treated you don't have sex or any form of play with your nether regions for a week. I know this, not because I'm a gp but because it happened to me in my early 20's. if the symptoms persist please do go see your gp. Please please please have safe sex and especially if you have any accident like accidental anal sex, if you tear and bleed you could expose yourself to all sorts of nastiness and the last thing you want at a young age is a std or worse!! I hope this helps

A woman informed me that she used our seaweed lotion on her daughters mc and completely gone in ten weeks also cleared it from the son as it appeared and treated earlier. I do not know what prompted her to use Caraderm on this condition but it worked and the images can be seen on the website caradermskincare.com All natural ingredients the lotion was primarily aimed at itchy inflamed skin

My son is exactly the same. What cream are you using?

My 6 year old has been complaining just the same of an itchy bum. I thought he was just being difficult at bed time as I couldn't see an apparent reason and some sudoceeam normally quietened him down. Unfortunately I have found worms after the GP mentioned it could be this. First time for everything. I have a three year old too but he seems fine. Feel bad for not realising sooner.

I think I have thread worms because when I went to bed a few nights ago I had a really itchy bum so I put on some nappy rash cream (which I normally do if I have an itchy or sore bum ) and I had white long worms moving on my hand ,what should I do because its making it hard to sleep because its that sore , please help !

Mate you have the EXACT same problem as me. As for the white bits, that is a result of not properly cleaning the head and under the foreskin. I have tried to stretch the bit that stops the foreskin from being pulled back, and if you do it over time in seems to work. So please talk to your doctor or your parents so they can help you out. There is nothing wrong with you, as it is quite normal. but if you do not pull the foreskin back after cleaning, you can get it stuck and end up with a paraphimosis. Good look mate!

I think I have worms. I've had an itchy bum for about 3-4 weeks now, I'm 13. PLEASE HELP! At night its so itchy and just recently its started in my vagina, I scratched it and felt something small I lifted my hand up to find a small white worm like thing, I'm crying so much I'm so worried. I am lying here and I can't sleep because I'm thinking about them. I'm so scared of telling my mum. I'm so so scared please help me.

You must tell your mother so that she can buy you some opex from the chemist. You shouldn't be embarassed-she is your mother.

I think i have worms, every time i do a poo i see white worm things in it and my bum is really itch and i have spots on it im only 14 HELP ?

There seems to be a mild obsession about this amongst some boys. I would say not to worry as long it is not red, itchy or sore. Take regular warm baths, which will soften the skin. Gently begin to move your foreskin back each time but don't force it. Always return it to its normal position. After a few months it should begin to retract more easily. Be patient, boys take many years to become fully mature. So chill out and let us know how you get on...
