I was told i couldnt have kids unless i had fusion as i found my scoliosis too late - 24 years on since fusion i have two amazing kids - yeh my back hurts still but live a better life than if i dudnt have fusion - my only regret is that one of my daughters has it now as well - so from a mum's point of view wear your brace!!!! The pain of watching your children suffer is way worse than any pain i went through myself x

Hi periods are normal and every woman goes through the experience. Some women get very heavy sore periods, some women get very light ones it really just depends on your own body. I had a bit of pain, kind of similar to a sore tummy, like when it hurts after eating something bad though it also goes away pretty quickly. Mine always came the day before my period started-so i always knew it was coming :) If the pain is bad you can take some painkillers or, the best cure I have found is a warm bath followed by cuddling up in bed with a hot water bottle at your tummy. The heat helps relax the muscles and eases the pain. Always be prepared as well and make sure you have enough sanitary pads. Also make sure you change them every 4 hours. For nighttime get some with 'wings' as these will hold the pad steady so it doesn't move about while you sleep. I hope this helps. If you need anything else ask someone close to you.

Hello. I am 23 female. I have been having this problem for a few weeks now. I have been diagnosed with SLE lupus not sure if it's due to the condition or not but I have pains in my stomach everyday and I go to the toilet a few times when I do go its very painfull some times there is blood sometimes it's not. The pain is a very sharp knife like pain I am not constipated and afterwards when I'm finished I get a sharp shooting pain feels like I can't wall properly and I can't sit its lasts for around 15 mins then the pain starts to slow down. I am really embarrassed to see my gp what could it be?

Hi Cameron yes this is normal - although everyone is different when it comes to different stages of puberty. You can stop this from bugging you by accepting that you are growing into a man and the changes in your body and voice are reflecting this. If boys your age are making fun of you it may be because they haven't quite got to the stage that you are at right now and so of course a lot of people make fun of people that they see as different from themselves - but they will soon all be going through this! Try not to let people get you down and believe me it will soon pass and your body will settle down and you will enjoy being a young man.

My 9 year old son complained of pain and a white discharge when he peed, and complains of belly pain. Are these common symptoms of a UTI, or could there be another problem?

My 5 year old son suffers from severe stomach pain, its distressing for me to watch him in so much pain so it must be horrible to feel the pain all the time, I have took him to see doctors on many occasions and just keep been told he has gastroenteritis, I know this is not the case. He has had 9 operations since he was born, 3 of them were bowel surgery and lasted 8 hours each. Last time I took him to see a doctor he came to the conclusion that my son has adhesions and gave him medicine containing chloroform which is vile tasting and he won't take it. Can adhesions be removed? This is stopping him from having a normal life and is also affecting his school work.

Puberty is different for different people! Some girls will start their periods at 12 while some will start at 20! Discharge usually marks that your period is coming soon so keep checking for it and you will know. Be sure to keep some pads or tampons on hand just in case! As for your orgasms , that is also completely normal. It's just your hormones. They are preparing your body for your period so things might not seem like they usually are but at least you know your body is working properly! Good luck!

I have had an anal fissure for about a year or so now. And it keeps getting worse. I thought it would heal on its own but it hasn't. And it cause a great deal of pain. I don't know what to do. I'm embarrassed to confront my parents about this. But the pain is becoming to much to handle. Im only 15, and there is a lot of blood everytime I use the bathroom... Why should I do?

Hi I have had the same, stupidly I wasn't drinking enough, became dehydrated which caused constipation. When I went it was so hard due to lack of fluids & tore me. The fissure didn't go away like I thought it would. I then avoided going to the loo as long as possible as it hurt so much. The Dr gave me some internal cream & muscle relaxant... Awful I know but it really helped! Not completely healed but I've also not used it as much as I should. Don't suffer as it creates a behavioural problem cycle- you need to poo- you hold it in for fear of pain- the poo gets bigger- you cant hold on- you tense your muscles with fear- your bum tears further & your in more pain. Just see the Dr they didn't examine me I just told symptoms & was given cream... It really is that easy!

Just go see a doctor, you shouldn't be embaressed. If you actually read the article above it states that everyone gets them, even children. It also gives you other suggestions on how to treat them. Before I knew what it was I was also embaressed, until I told my friend and she told me she has had one and that everyone gets them. Just tell your parents, it's not like it it's an STD. :) Goodluck

No worries! This is just female nature! Most girls ( if not ALL! ) worry about their figure and body as a whole. Remember , you make your body what you want it to be and you can decide how you like it. If you don't like your body then work out at the gym or change your diet. Your boobs , not much can be done about. They will grow in their own time , don't worry. After all , your body knows best! It's more than common! Just roll with it and it'll all work out soon! Good luck!

Hi yer. Since the age of 6 months old I was diognosed with scoliosis. I was in Body Plaster's and Braces up to the age of 14. I was one of the lucky one's that didn't need an op like Jade to have a rod attached to my spine. I'm now 35 and I'm pretty well and with no back pain.

I had scoliosis surgery on january 5th 2010 for a 68 degree thorasic curve.it all what smoothly and i am moastly back to my normal activities but, around 2 weeks after i got back home i had extreme pain in the bottom left of my stomach it felt like it was just behind the bone at the front. this was getting progresively worst and after a week my mum took me to the doctors and she said it may have been a cist or something ahd sent me home with ibroprofen, but even the maximum dose of paracetamol and iboprofen didnt help the pain at all so the day after we went back and the doctor advised us to go to a&e so we did. by this time i was doubling over in pain but they said at a&e that is was probablly muscle pain from the surgery and i was sent home with a course of codine which helped but when they ran out i was back to extreme pain but it wasnt all the time or as bad and over the next 4 months these times of pain got further and further apart, but reasently the pain has begun to get more frequent again, not as bad but i still have to lye down untill it subsides. Could this pain still be the pain of straightening out and if so how long will it last for because it is restricting me from doing somethings i want to get back to doing?

This is fine. The throat and the ears are connected and it seems that the pain has spread through to her ears. You dont really need olive oil you can give her calpol and make sure her ears are clean because sometimes when you get ear aches a lot more wax is given off due to your body trying to get rid of it's illness.

Hi Abigail When your periods first start it is totally normal for them to be irregular and for you to miss the odd one, or even to have 2 very close together..... I know that's what happened to me! I wouldn't worry too much about it, but if you are concerned or it goes on for longer then you can always go and see your doctor. You should always try and eat healthily, and take exercise as this will have an effect on your body in general. Also if your body doesn't get the correct nutrients and you are too thin or too fat that can effect it as well. But I think in your case your body is just trying to settle in to a pattern. Good luck!

My son is 6 and has suffered from what doctors believe to be constipation since he was 4 months old. We have had variety medication which works to begin with, then his body. The reason for my comment is i watched your show on 07/05/10 where you featured a little boy who was in pain when going to the toilet. My son seems to have some similarities to this child but we have always been to that its constipation. what do you suggested that i do.

Hi, i also have Lordosis, but im 21 and male, is your Lordosis causing you any pain? As your body is still growing; i would have though your Doctor would have offered you a back support belt. Did you doctor say an operation is the only option?

Im 24 now and have walked on my tiptoes all my life. 2 years ago I started with severe pain on bottom of my foot (between toes and heel) I could put my feet flat so I went to my GP who put me to a foot specialist. After a few sessions he decided I haf gone so long in life ignoring my feet that exercise alone wont soften tendans, they are that short they are like spring pulling my heel up when I walk. A z plasty is booked where they open my heel, and stitch tendons on from elsewhere in my body. However, over a year now I have been suffering back pain. It takes alot for pain to bother me and mean ALOT. After GP gave me an unsatisfactory diagnosis I went to a chiro, I have just found out thanks to my duff feet my spine has kinked and I have a dropped hip on right hand side. Imagine a car wheels, ur sat at steering wheel facing wheels forward, you turn the wheel so that wheels are pointing to 3oclock, 3 of my vertebraes are facing at 3 and my muscles have moved while trying to hold the three in their new place, this is whats the causing the pain and its all down to my feet :( so if you walk on your tiptoes PLEASE PLEASE go to your GP before lasting damage is done. If they are funny with you, remember we ALL HAVE THE RIGHT to ASK and DEMAND to be sent to a specialist. Doctor cant refuse you. Good luck guys xxx

I have had mouth ulcers for as long as I remember. I use oralmedic on mine just to cute the pain. It's sore to use but what a difference it makes to the pain afterwards. Its not cheap either but for me it's worth every penny to kill the pain for an extended period.

if you have been throwing up after you have binged then the majority of the weight you have gained is water. your body gets scared that you will become dehydrated again so it store alot of water in your body eg under skin so it is like you have gained weight but it is not fat its water. stop bingeing and throwing up then after a few weeks your body will trust you gain not to dehydrate your body and it will stop storing water and you will weight less because of it. it is not physically possible to gain a stone in two weeks not even 5 pounds. bingeing does can make you gain weight because between 30-50% of what you eating will be digested even if you throw up, but you body is designed to be able to cope with occasional binges and not put on weight. please get help for your eating disorders, go to your GP, tell your mum, anybody you can trust to help you but dont suffer in silence.

My daughter who is 2 and a half has had "Massive" tonsils but with no pain for about 6 months. i have no idea why and realise her body must be struggling to cope with something. Could this be related to allergy to egg? She gets a red blotches with white spots in middle when her skin has contact with skin, so goodness knows what is going on inside. I don;t feed her egg but neither do i omit it from within foods. Any suggestions or experience of this?

    Thanks for replying

I'm scared to go to the toilet and am hoping to go to the docter soon. I don't like having them and hate the idea of them laying thousands of eggs in and around my body. How long will it take to get rid of them and do they harm you?? Do they bite or eat the inside of your body?
