My son just turned 4 we have been under the hospital for about a year now and hes had eeg's and mri scans and still found no brain problems but he has been diagnosed with focal epilepsy due t the electricity being produced further in the brain, When he has a seizure his eyes roll leg and arm stiffen and he's a bit twitchy sometimes he can do 10 in a day then nothing for a few weeks. He is now taking a anti seizure drug called Carbamazephine and they are at bay so go back and pester your gp for cosultant referal! My son is also very fit and healthy in every other way. Good luck x

wow, this sounds very very similar to what my 8 year old is going through. Your Daughter is the first person I've found to have the same symptoms. She starts by having eye pain and this is a warning that she is going into an episode. She curls up in a ball and then after a couple of minutes she feels dizzy and her whole body goes completly floppy. The first episode lasted 3 days and wasn't as severe but now the episodes last between an hour and 24 hours and they are getting worse and worse. She cannot open her eyes when in an episode. Her CT scan was normal and we are waiting for MRI results. When she's not in an episode she is a normal happy child. It sounds very similar so maybe we can swap info if and when we get any?

My friends daughter aged 4 is having problems pooing or should i say holding on to it because she says it hurts, it comes and goes all day sometimes and her bottom is sore from holding on this all started about a year ago because it hurt one day. She is changing her underwear often due to staining her own doctor gave her some medicine to soften the poo to make it easier to come out but does not seem to be working. I feel that it has gone on too long, she gets sent home from nursery and cant go out some days because of the way she is, for example crying and crossing her legs to stop it coming out.

My advice would be to see your GP and ask to be referred to a child constipation or continence clinic as soon as possible. We spent a year having contradictory advice from different GPs whilst her constipation got worse and worse. In my experience GPs do not understand this condition or the way that it should be best treated. Her life has changed since she has seen the specialist.

I am nearly 16 and have a phobiea of having a blood test, i simply refuse to have it done. I wouldnt say i have a phobiea of needles because i would much rather a needle in the bicep (if the top part of my arm is called the bicep)of my arm than a veiny part of my body. It just makes me cringe to even lay my arm out straight with my wrist facing up and if anyone grabs my wrist with there fingers grasping my veins i'll literally GAG OUT LOUD, i can't even think about it without crossing my arms. i tryed to have a blood test at one point way over a year ago, i could'nt help my hystericle behaviour, i was crying before i was even in the seat, i could'nt control my breathing and i was just all over the place scared to death and could'nt go through with it. I need a blod test. It would be so amazing and extremely hepful if anyone could give an answer that would help my phobeia in anyway please x =D please dont leave any sarcastic answers thank you x

I am living in India. My daughter of 2 wakes up a few times in the night crying looks like with pain. Normally I will take her in my arms and rub her tommy. Than she will most of the time stop crying and fall asleep again. I also noticed that she is scratching her bum in the night. Does somebody knows what it is? I sometimes also see some white dots on her anus. I went to the doctor and she told me it is the diapers. and give me some anti worm for her to drink. She drank it but it stayed the same. Can somebody help.

my son is 2 years 4 months old and will not sleep through the night in his own bed. he will sleep all night if he is in my bed. me and partner then have to sleep in seperate rooms as theres no room and my son moves around alot. how can i get him out of this routine and get him to go sleep in his bed and sleep all night, the health visitors have tried to tell me its a behavioural thing and he will grow out of it. i have tried the controlled crying but it gets to much when hes making himself sick because hes crying so much, i tried to ignore him but i would end up just putting him into my bed, this has been going on for 4 months now. but i want something sorting now, sooner rather than later, hopefully. he sleeps for around 1.5hrs and 2hrs just after dinner time.

Try Otostick. They are made up of 2 transparent silicon pads that hold the ear back against the head and, with persistent use, eventually help reshape the cartilage. Around £20 for 4 sets of pads.Spanish based but available on ebay.

does it rlly work? will it change permanently?

I know the Spanish company that sells otostick, we're helping them launch in UK next month in pharmacies and online. They are very good, easy to use and practically invisible in use. Keep an eye on zurego.com for news of the launch in June.

Hi Niall. It's not serious but you need to persevere in pulling your foreskin back. It will hurt at first but be brave. Take a warm bath as it will soften the skin and pull when your penis is soft. Wash off the goo underneath. Be persistent and eventually you'll get it back all the way. Take care

I'm 16, and I have had persistent headlice for a good 8-9 years, I've tried everything, combing everyday, keeping my hair in water for a few hours, headlice treatment, itching them out, tea tree ointment, but nothing is working for long, they just come back. It is very embarrassing and I don't want to hug my friends just in case they catch them and I'm finding it very difficult to have a relationship because I am worried I will pass the headlice on to my partner. Please help me, I am at the end of my tether.

crush seeds of custard apple into powder and apply one hour before going to bath mixed with coconut oil. Apply for five days. Your problem should be solved.

My daughter has had headlice since the age of 5- shes 9 next week! We have had to resort to cutting her beautiful long blonde hair to a bob as she now has psoriasis from so much scratching. I have tried all treatments going and the only one that seems to work is NYDA (although this is V expensive approx £16 for family size bottle)and as not everyone in her class seems to be trying to get rid if them, they keep returning. I've tried the vinegar which is good but very tedious. Has anyone got any further suggestions as its causing ALOT of arguing and distress in our house on a daily basis.

Go to your GP and ask for a referal to Orthopedics if you do not already see them and then insist on an xray of her hips. It's always better to be safe and have the xray, one way or the other you will know, otherwise you will go out of your mind with worry. ;)

Get some bonjela or igluu, they are both mouth ulcer treatments. Igluu you can buy over the counter at somewhere like boots. Apply a little bit every night until the ulcers go away. Or as a cheaper alternative, you can create a salt saline. Mix 3 teaspoons of salt with a good splash of luke warm water and just make your daughter gurgle it around her mouth, but don't let get swallow it as it tastes horrible. Hope this helps

google ear buddies by David gault with persistent use you might get lucky idealy they need to be put on in the first few weeks of birth.if in the future you decide on operation make sure its the safe suture technique to pin them back. the anterior scoring technique is risky as bleeding can contiue after surgery causing heamatoma and serius deformity of ears seen lots of bad results with this technique.greg o toole does the safe technique as david gault

I scored 39. I've recently seen a psychiatrist, and she wants me to take an Autism test and a Schizophrenic test. I can't even discuss this with my family as it's causing rifts; my mum keeps crying, and I feel awful. This sucks, I'm only 15.

I would not worry about taking an Autism test - my 17 year old son has recently taken one and he coped fine. Many adolescents who have autism are misdiagnosed as schizophrenic at first as there is some overlap - my son was also suspected of having it. Having a diagnosis can be helpful. You can understand things that may have been difficult for you in the past and hopefully have support. Please tell your mum not to worry.

Hi michelle I've personally had eczema from a very young age and have helped reduce the irritation by changing my diet. I found that eating ready meals (with all their preservatives) and spicy foods are very bad for my skin also drinking fizzy drinks like coke also bring out the eczema, but worst of all if I chop a tomato or lemon without gloves the skin becomes inflamed and highly irritated! So with all this in mind please make sure your daughter steers clear from heavily spiced or packaged food as it sounds like her case is very extreme. I would also recommend trying homeopathy and hemp creams which cool the irritated skin dramatically! hope I could help! X
