my son is 15months old and in the last 5 months has perferated his eardrum 7 times due to infections in the middle. He is due to have grommets in 2 months time. He recently had a hearing test and his hearing is really poor. After he has had the grommets inserted will his hearing improve or will he need further treatment for it?

MY daughter had her grommetts put in at 4 and hear hearing improved almost immediately ..( told me tv was too loud)

My daughter is also 6 and has signs of puberty. Pubic hair, odour, moods and growth. Took her to the doctors and they have referred her to hospital. I would get a 2nd opinion from the doctors if I were you.

Hi Jacob. Usually growth of the testicles is the first sign of puberty but not always. Don't worry too much. Your penis could keep growing until you are 20 so there is plenty of time. Hair down there could be making things look smaller. Wait another year and if you have not grown down there...get back to us.

    1. I am 48years of age. I contantly have hair on my chin and bit of mustarch which I found it very very embarrassing. 2. Always have sports on my stomach and very pinful. Please, it there anything to do to remove or stop the hair growth and also likewise the sports.

If you look very closely at most of your body you'll see that we are covered with small hairs. At puberty, more defined hair growth occurs in many areas such as around nipples. This is possibly what is happening to you. If you get totally upset by these hairs there are many ways of removing them temporarily or even permanently. In the meantime, don't worry too much.

I have two problems 1)I'm 16 and my penis is only about 2 inch soft and 3/4 hard I worry that its small and it puts me off getting into relationships, becaus I'm 16 is that the end of growth and can I do anything? 2)I cannot pull my foteskin back over the tip, this worrues me aswell these make relationships hard:(

If you have gone through puberty then it won't grow a lot more but will still grow till your 21 and you should speak to your doctor obout tight foreskin and he will give you some cream and tell you how to stretch the foreskin if you can still not pull your foreskin back see your doctor and you will have to have it circumsticed

Hi Jason. Don't worry at all. Your penis is likely to continue growing until you are at least 19 so don't let this stop you getting into relationships. Remember you can leave your penis in your pants! Your foreskin will need a little help to start moving. Take a warm bath and try to ease it back then forward again. It may hurt a little but you have to be brave. Do this as often as possible and you should see a difference in a few months. Be patient and take care. Hope this helps.

Stretch marks appeared on my back when I was 13/14 (they are still there now at 27, although quite faded). The reason for them (from what I was told) is quick spurts of growth in height which stretch the skin on the back. I grew in height by about 6 or 7 inches in under a year.

Hi Malik. Puberty will start soon but we all start at different times. It lasts for about 5 years in boys and the first sign is usually growth of the testicles (balls) so take a look. Your penis will catch up later on and can keep growing until you are 20 years old!! Remember, the average adult size is smaller than you think so don't worry. Take care and enjoy being young.

my niece was diagnosed at less than a week old. The doctor on her case is flummoxed by her case as she has had surgery five times and the hips are still not in their right place. This poor little girl is a little darling and never complains even though she must be in pain sometimes. She walks with a 'sailors gait' still and she can't walk very far but she loves to dance and play with her friends in school. I am sure that she must have some kind of growth disorder as she is only as big as an average 4 year old. I would be interested to find out from anyone in a similar situation.

Oh dear I totally understand about not sleeping, am mom to an eczema child, who got it from 2 weeks old. So sorry to hear about the poor eating and sleep, hope his growth is still on track. I understand the numerous aspects of possible triggers to manage, have you taken an allergy test? That may help to eliminate what isn't triggering, so at least free you time not to have to worry about those. On allergy test, below is the interview w pediatric allergist http://eczemablues.com/2012/05/friday-dr-qa-with-dr-liew-elimination-diet-and-allergy-test/ On the smell, it's due to the oozing skin? Try preventing infection by chlorhexidine or swimming (but check first with your doc as not sure if recommended for serious eczema flare-ups). Flaky dry skin - does wet wrap help? one layer wet, the second dry, overnight? It helped in many children, including under hospital care. Take care, Mei of EczemaBlues

NHS won't do it until you're 18, I'm 16 and was forced to go to a private treatment which was too expensive because of it.

Im 31 and have PCOS, Ive had problems with body hair since I was about your age. I made a fatal mistake and started shaving when I was 15 and now have to shave every day like a man. It makes me feel very un female as I have hais on my face, chest and tummy. Please please please dont make the same mistake and hold on for laser hair removal, have you tried to dye the hair inbetween waxing as this may give you a bit of a rest?

thanks for replyin to my message il give it a try cause my poor little mite is still suffering thanks very much

im 13yrs old and I have hair on the side of my face, back, torso, legs, arms and toes. I absolutely hate my sideburns as my friends always tease me about it, and my snailtrail as I cant wear a bikini anymore. also whenever I shave my legs or underarms the hair grows back very dark and its there the next day. My excessive hair growth all around my body has lead me to be very self conscious of the way I look. I told my mum about this but she just said it ws because of puberty and it will stop. I believe shes lying because she has a lot of hair growth aswelll. Im really not sure of the best way to get rid of it as im abit scared to try waxing or dilapitries.

Just talk to your mother properly and explain how you would like to go to the doctors to be safe. It'll be fine, and I know how you feel, but thunk positive and ignore negative remarks. Waxing is good, i do it.

I'm exactly the same. 13 years old, hair on my stomach (the worst, grows back after shaving in a couple of days), legs, they're not the worst and I can cope with these. I'm White British with dark brown hair, so my body hair is quite dark too. I always have had hairy arms and now my frineds are noticing. I've had enough. There must be a treatment for this. (Also hair on my upper lip, vagina, bum, and back. Acne on my back and chest area)

Hi I'm 32 yrs old and had hair growth since I had my daughter 11 yrs ago. Hi, I'm 28 years old and have PCOS. I have the symptoms (hirsutism, overweight, acne and greasy skin)but not the cysts - apparently this is quite common. PCOS is nothing to worry about as the cysts are harmless and as long as your periods are regular, it shouldn't affect conception (obviously, you don't have that problem :))The main problem with this condition is how the symptoms affect self confidence, and the fact that not a lot can be done about it other than hormone treatment and creams :(

I just wish that the laser treatment you can get for this condition was free to women with this condition, it seems so unfair that if i was a man wanting to be a women he would get it done for free on the nhs ... So why can't we ?

wow poor you! I think people should look up to you! :) hope you get better soon and people comment on this post! :) xx

Thank you embarrasing bodies, for hopefully raising awareness about plagio. Lets hope the NHS take more notice about this and help us fund the poor little kids who develop this. After all, its probably a result of being advised to lay babies on their backs in the first place and they are not willing to pay for the consequences. Ps. my daughter has a helmet thanks to Sandy

Here, Here! I totally agree with youIt's about time this information was taken out of the closet. Thank you C4! Plagio and Brachi will not significantly improve over time with repositioning alone - this infuriates me. My daughter now has a beautiful round head thanks to her helmet but it took me knowing from a friend not the so called experts.

Vicky - please can you tell where you went to get your daughter's band fitted. Was it LOC in Kingston?

my 8 yr old also suffers with this 'constipation' problem,he has all his life.the doctor said he would grow out of it......still waiting!top tip for not having to keep buying new pants..dye childs underwear black as once rinsed and washed, embarassing stains wont show.poor children, its not their fault.

all i had to do to get rid of mine is using a mouse treatment (left in overnight) then every other day, i lagged my hair with conditioner, and then combed my hair for about 10 minutes with a nitty gritty spiral teeth comb. what is also useful is any teatree hair products, nits hate the smell of it and leaves your hair really smooth!

Hello I understand your situation that happens to me!! What I do is I use vinegar!! It kind of un-sticks the lice and them you leave that on for 5 mins and then you wash it out put a load of conditioner on that kills the lice and wash it out and ta-da!! But it does make your head stink of vinegar!!!! But it's easily covered up with a bit perfume!! And anti-flee dog shampoo doesn't make you itch as much!

My Daughter (6) has this horrible, horrible condition (poor thing); Dr's = Useless! Am currently trying Manuka Honey Cream (available from Holland and Barrett £6.99) and it has almost immediately cleared up her eczema (which was undernearth) and the Molluscum appears to be getting better and has stopped spreading (after 4 days) but I have been advised it will take at least 2 weeks to show any real results. I'll keep you posted!

Hi Harry. Some boys are known as late bloomers but I am sure it will start soon and can go on until you are 20 so there's lots of time. Usually the testicles increase in size first so look out for this. Hope this helps.

I'm 14 years old and am completely flat chested. I've started growing pubic and armpit hair already and have recently had a growth spurt. Will I ever have boobs?!

My son is five years old and has attended paediatrician for over two years now with no success whatsoever. He has had movicol, senna and lactulose, lentil soup, prune muffins, you name it he has had it! At the moment we are waiting for a referral for a child psychologist(been waiting since Dec 2011). He will sit on the toilet but as the poo just runs out of him, nothing goes into the toilet so he doesn't seem to connect with why he is sitting on the loo!! Also we were told that children are not prescribed suppositories even though when the problem first occurred our son got one, which worked,so it was a yea for one professional and a nae for another. Help please.

my daughter is 6, been to the incontinence clinc for over a year, been on fibre diets, movicol, senna, had a bladder scan and we have had no positive results so far, its lowered her self confidence, ashamed, makes every day life for us as a family harder etc. i know how frustrated you are as a mum

I too have hirsutism and i met a endocrinologist reguarding it. He gave me thyroid tablets , diane-35 and another tablet to be taken. I have been taking this for nearly a month there are no visible decrease in the hair growth. Is my situation worsening or what else can i do regaurding this?

I am taking dianette for acne, if you read the 84 page booklet that comes with it, it explains that it takes a few months to start working. You should always read the booklet.

honey you must wait atleast 6 months to see some results while taking diane-35 and continue to maybe one or two year. be patient and hopefull
