my son is nearly 7 months and seems to only tolerate powder foods that you mix with water. if i try to introduce yoghurt or mash or anything like that he becomes constipated, he is having two breastfeeds a day with 3 powdered foods. he also comes out in a rash on his face, sometimes its only a bit other times its all round his eyes and is red and blotchy but not raised, this is when he has fruit, and usually disappears after half an hour and doesnt seem to cause him discomfort. surely this is not normal?

I recommend a new dermatologist. Has it ever changed color or shape? If so tell a dr immediately. Did you tell anyone it's itchy? Don't mention eczema when you tell the doctor. You are downplaying symptoms. These are easily removed and I don't understand your dr and your mum refusing removal.

Itchy could be a problem. You can easily have it removed by a dermatologist. It didnt even hurt when I removed mine. However if it changes color or shape have it checked immediately!

My baby boy is 5 months old and he started with a small area of raised red patches on his belly and this spread over his whole front, then around his back and patches are now on his legs and arms. We were advised it could be his bath products and for the last 10 days we use only water to wash him in as told to do so by a health visitor, the first few days the rash seemed to be less red and now over the last week it has got really bad, his whole back is covered, what else can we do?? I'm keeping the skin well moisturised, using olive oil or non purfumed products as advised by the pharamacist, we're at a loss how to help, please recommend what else it could be or we can do.

My 27 month old has a red blister looking rash on his face. He also appears to have sores inside his mouth, these are preventing him from eating (even though he is hungry). He has a temperature of 38 and a very faint rash on his hands and feet. Is this hand foot and mouth. Do I need to taking him to the doctor if it is? Any advise would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

Hi. When I was younger I had the exact same problem. I tried T gel and that didn't work. What I used and still use now is Nizoral. It's quite expensive but well worth it. I strongly recommend. My doctor prescribed me on it. You should definitely try it.

I think my 4yr old daughter has recently had this. It started off as cold like sysmptoms inc raised temp to which she was kept off nursery. Then we had just come bk to school after a school outing and her face was bright red and hot to touch but she was ok in herself. We all noticed it including the teachers but just put it down to her being hot few days later she had a rash on her legs same size shape ans place on each leg. Again put it down to heat rash. Few weeks later she started suffering with adominal pain and aching limbs. We put that down to growing pains. I'd never heard of slapped cheek before and I think this is what my daughter had. After about a month all symptoms subsided and she's fine.

There are 2 parts to this rash it started with what was first thought to be ring worm, she had a very large raised rash that was the size od a small teacup, this then became infected and the other rash has now covered her completly. It does itch she is 7 and very upset, her eyes are like little slits on her face. There is a 20 week wait to see a consultant, she was so bad yesterday took her to A&E they were also at a loss to what it was and took a blood test to rule out other symptoms. My 6 year old son has not ever had meningitis, luckily. He does however often present with the exact same rash that doesn't disappear. I ALWAYS take him to see a doctor as soon as the rash appears, we end up being admitted to the hospital for tests and observation and everytime we are told it is a viral rash. I would love to know why my son viral rash ALWAYS presents itself as the meningitis rash? It's so frightening because even though it's always been a viral rash, it's always in the back of my mind that it could be meningitis!

Is there anything i can do prove this? and can this be an allergy?

Well I am guessing it is more likely to be excsma. The best thing to do is to put e45 on it with another layer of dermotol. If all else fails Put some lancane on it or under some cold water to unclog it.

Hi Ollie. Sorry to hear this. It can be very painful but testicles tend to recover well after being kicked. Obviously you visited a doctor and if you have completed taking the antibiotics as directed then any infection will be sorted. Keep an eye on the rash. If is starts to spread to other parts of your body then go to the doctor as soon as you can. We can advise about your tight foreskin later...don't worry about it.

My two teenagers girl 14 boy 12 have developed a red and bumpy rash behind their ears and around their neck and upper back. They said its only slightly itchy but their are quite under the weather, what could it be? They have both had all their jabs etc., It is spreading onto their face too...

My daughter had this - her cheeks started becoming red and hot on the Friday and by the Monday the rash was beginning to appear further down her body. At the end of the first week she was rashy head to toe - her legs being the worst affected. The rash lasted 2 weeks, disappeared and reappeared after a week for a further 2 weeks! Her school were non too keen for her to attend even though she was contagious before the rash even appeared! I just wonder how you can tell the difference between this ans scarlet fever as both appear to be similar?

my 17month old boy had a raised blistery rash break out on his shoulder 3 days ago but has since taken over his entire upper body and groin and is still spreading to his legs and feet he has been diagnosed with impetigo but im not convinced as it has been spreading drastically by the hour but noone else has any symptoms the doctors at our GP were leaning towards scarlet fever but sent us off to hospital as it was effecting his toungue and looked infected but the doctor their said it was impetigo after only spending 5 minutes checking him over should i seek a second opinion? and should my older son who is not effected go back to nursery?

You might have thrush, got the dr and they can give you special cream/tablet to clear it all up xo

Sounds like "thrush". You can buy cream over the counter at a chemist. No prescription from you doctor is required. Can be common in females, is natural.

I'm 21 and for as long as I can remember I've had lots of small raised bumps on the skin of my arms and behind my shoulder. I had it a lot more as a child, it was also on my legs but as I got older they disappeared from there. They die down in the sun. I've been to the doctors who prescribed me tablets but they did nothing. I think it may be a wheat allergy as I recently had a baby and for 2 weeks afterwards I didn't eat bread or pasta and the bumps really died down but almost a day after eating white bread they flared up as bad as I had them when I was a child and now they're occasionally itchy!

My daughter has suffered from this rash for nearly 2 years now and it does not seem to be getiing better. She also started having eczema (after the rash had been there about a year) in her right elbow and I've been told using steroid cream might suppress the illness and come back as asthma later?
