My daughter is nearly 6 months old and with advice from my health visitor started solids early but she seems to be sick after each meal especially after dairy its usually milk she brings up, some times hours after. She suffered very badly with colic as a younger baby and was prescribed colief drops. Do you think she has an intolerance to something ??

My daugher was the same. I was told for months she had colic but it turned out she was lactose intollerant. She was constantly bloated, full of wind and would be sick hours after her feeds. Lactose free milk helped her a lot. When we started weaning her the dietician wanted us to try some lower lactose dairy to see if hew intollerance would manage that but with in an hour or two she would be in agony arching her back and screaming in pain and have very bad diarrhea. See if your baby is better on a lactose free milk with your GP's consultation.

I just wanted you to know that I have not seen the show but that our son always struggled through weening. Our life has been very difficult to get to this point, but he is now almost 3, and after bursting into tears in our doctors surgery (attending for an unrelated illness) because of the strain of this issue, I have now received some support. Felix has never liked to touch any food which is 'wet' and has never eaten fruit or veg. He has a liking of dry to touch foods so now has a diet of cereal, toast, chicken nuggets etc. We were recently referred to our local hospitals childrens ward where there is currently funding for a senior behavioural therapist. She has confirmed that he has sensory hypersensitivity. He has no ADHD, depression or autism (is infact very very bright. After our first session, a programme of messy play and desensitisation has been agreed. It is just the beginning of a very long road, but since the 1st appointment I have been able to empathise with him, and no longer blame myself for being a rubbish mother, or him for being a pain in the bum picky eater and I feel I can love him again (ridiculous I know)! Our mealtimes can still be stressfull, but you must hold on to the fact that your children are eating something. Our behavioural therapist stressed that having a good realtionship with food is paramount. So letting him eat what he enjoys is prefferabled. I also wanted you to know that our local hospital has been given this funding because the problem is very very common!!! Do not feel isolated or alone, as I have gone through this for 2 years. Push your health visitors to see you, support you and help you. I will let you know how we get on. But I feel so so positive for our future now. Good luck !!! xx

Hi, my daughter had a birthmark on the back of the top of her leg, looked like the batman wing sign!!! She too hated it, we tried telling her she was special etc, but kids being kids, she actually got picked on a little bit about it. She asked us and asked us to have it removed, we took her to our GP a couple of times and they were actually very understanding...........she used to wear 2 pair of 70 denier black tights so nobody could see it.The GP reffered us to a plastic surgeon, who was lovely about it, and this time last year she had the first of 3 operations to remove it,she was in and out of hospital in a day,but had alot of problems with the healing process, not many peoples bodies reject the stitches...........hers did, so it was backwards and forwards several times to hospital, had infections etc, but this didnt put her off having the next op............which she had about 8 weeks ago, so far so good, healing nicely :) She is having her hopefully final op in next few months. She is so happy having her operations, she is so much happier and has a little bit more confidence now. I hope this helps, go see your GP and tell them all about wearing thick tights in the middle of summer etc, play on it if you have to, and fingers crossed you will get referred to Hospital...............good luck :)

Hi My daughter is 3 next week and has suffered from chronic constipation since she was 4mths old (when she started on solids). she has been in hospital many times for blockages and had lots of tests (coeliac, biopsies, beriam xrays, cameras, intolerances (she has a nut allergy) etc, etc, etc) she is under the hospital for it and has 60ml of lactulose, 4 movicol and 15ml of docusate sodium every day. its horrible to see her in so much pain.she has tears on her bum and has had piles. They are now putting it down to IBS and she is having thyroid tests done as she suffers from pins and needles quite a lot and does not gain weight. I hope you all sort your little ones constipation out very soon.

I am so relieved that there are other people out there with this problem, I thought that I was doing things wrong, that it was my fault.(Bad mum not making progress). My little boy has just turned 3, he is just the same as little jeevan, only eats yogurt, custard, hot runny weetabix, very mashed up dinners, (like a little baby) he loves his milk. He has never eaten solids. He doesn't like load noises and hates getting dirty. We took him to the beech last summer and he screamed and screamed about the sand touching his feet. My sister seen the show and rang me, I found it on the internet and watched it back, I cried when I seen it, a mixture of relief and cry for help. After watching the episode 6 times, I am now trying to find help, if there is anyone who has been through this or is indeed going through it and may be able to help, please contact me. Thank you.
