My 6 year old daughter has smelly armpits too! She also has EXTREMELY sweaty feet too and has done since she was about 3. Our GP has prescribed a roll on deodorant for her feet that is safe for use on other body parts such as underarms. I encourage her to wash thoroughly under her arms twice a day. The thing is she is a naturally very warm person. I would personally not be too concerned. If she starts developing signs such as pubic hair, breast development then it could be a sign of ver early puberty. precocious (early) puberty can can start at around 8 in girls but as early as 6 in some cases. If you are very worried I would see your GP but if it is just the Smelly sweat, I would not be overly concerned. If it is embarrassing for her I would go to boots and enquire about a mild and gentle roll on deodorant suitable for a child's skin, there are none marketed for children but finding one for very sensitive skin may be an idea. I encourage my daughter to use a small amount during the hot weather months. At the end of the day, if you are at all worried se you GP. Your little girl is not alone and it is comforting to know my littl1 is not alone too.

hi my daughter is 14 years old, she had bad lower abdominal pains for a couple of days before it moved to the lower right side, and she was very tender to touch. On recommendation from our GP who I contacted by phone just as surgery was closing, we took her to A + E. A dipstick test of urine showed a slight trace of something but as they were concerned with the right side pain they decided to admit her incase it was her appendix. Another urine sample taken the following morning on request by the surgical team showed that it was positive. She was started on a 3day course of Trimethoprim, and given paracetomal and codeine. She has been off the antibiotics for 4 days now and she doesn't feel any better and is still having pain. Although she is eating she feels full and has lost 4lbs in weight in just over a week. We have put in another urine sample that has been sent away to be tested but haven't received any results yet. What should I do now.

Hello! My 2.6 yrs old boy has had 4-5 UTIs in the last 6 months. He was prescribed different antibiotics and he improves but in two or three weeks after the course the symptoms come back. At the moment he has UTI-like sypmtoms-fever, loss of apetit and pain when passing urine but his urine looks fine- no unusual smell or colour, not cloudy or dark. His penis looks normal too-no soreness or redness or discharges. He has had a kidney scan and results were normal. Now he is waiting to be seen by an urologist. How can I help him meanwhile. P.S. 3 weeks ago with the same symptoms his urine sample was negative for infection. And his foreskin is not retaracted.

I agree with Jo. If it's bugging you, try sliding your foreskin back slightly before you urinate so that it opens a little at the end. That way the urine has a nice easy way out and won't inflate your foreskin. It'll also help you to control the direction of your urine more easily.

My 2 year old boy has a white substance in his urine which looks similar to sugar which hasnt disolved. he also has white marks in his pants, we have just started potty training so dont know how long he has had it. he doesnt seem to have any redness, soreness or problem with passing urine. Just wondering if you can help please.

Hi I, not a dr but does your daughter eat a lt of fish? When my daughter eats fish fingers, or prawns you can smell it very strong in her wee.

My 6 year old daugther is unable to hold her urine. She has to wear a nappy all the time even to school. As a baby (18-24 months) we noticed her urine was very strong and when sneezing and laughing it would squirt out.It took a long time for anyone to listen to us. Been to see doctors, consultants and even had medication given but nothing seems to work. I am very worried about the situation and hope someone has some advice to give me.

Hi my 5yo daughter has had re-current urine infections for 2 and a half years now. She has been up at the hospital every 6 months and was on trimepathrin until oct 2011 when we were sent to a&e by our gp after tests their they said she was on the wrong anti-biotics and put her on cephalexin since then the urine infections have been less re-current she has also had the gamma camera scan and it has shown up all clear. I have looked online and she checks all the boxes for cystitis except the obvious ones (i.e relate to sex) but the Dr is unwilling to check for this as she beliefs it not to be that. Can you sugest anything else that i could do to either stop the infections all together or to get a diagnosis

Hi Vikky. Make pulling back the foreskin part his of the daily washing routine. No need to fuss - all he has to do is pull it back as far as he can without any pain, give the tip a quick wash to remove the discharge (Smegma) and all is done. Smegma is found in all boys and men with foreskins and they all have to wash it off! Use mild baby soaps too as he is quite young. I am confident he will be fine with your help. No need for a doctor. Hope this helps.

Is ten too old for grommets.my daughter has had a weeping smelly itchy ear for 18mth mth.she has had loads of different antibiotics and two ear swabs.the first was borderline and the most recent one was normal.i have no idea what they are going tp say at her appointment tomorrow.

She's not to old my daughters 13 and had 9 lots since she was em3 we've been back to the hospital today (she has semi permanent) and we've got to go back in 6 weeks to see them again and have a date set to have them removed. The only problem we have is after so many the chances of being able to have any more is slim because of the amount of scar tissue she has so don't know what road we'll be sent down next. Fingers crossed your daughter was ok.

my three year old daughter is suffering with smelly breath on a regular basis, there isn't any tooth decay and she brushes her teeth twice a day and uses mouth wash but it doesn't seem to improve. i don't know what else to try any suggestions?

this may be gingivitis (Google this)this is unable to be see but if it gets worse her gums might start to bleed it may not be gingivitis but the symptoms seem similar to it so to resolve this visit your dentist she may need a injection but don't worry it is injected really fast and or if she does not need a injection you will be able to get some tables that will stop the gingivitis and the bad breath

I can't comment on other people but I know that I lived with this problem for years. Going to school smelly and sleeping in a corner of the bed I thought was dryest. I was offered 2p did I didn't wet my bed. I never had a dry night. I slept so deep any noise you could imagine would not wake me. This is what I know to be the answer to my problem

My daughter is 7 and she has regular pain when weeing, she also has a vaginal disgard which is very smelly. I have been to the GP several times and they have taken swabs and always come back clear? It is devastating to hear her cry in pain, I guess it would be cystitis. She has also had this problem since she was 3. The GP say's this is normal amd there is nothing wrong with her, but as you can see there are a few comments on here that all sound simular so hopefully it will end soon? I am at a loss also?

My 4 year old son has Continence problems along with several other issues. He sees a Consultant & takes Lactulose. My question is for those of you with experience of using Lactulose..Have you found it can cause offensive smelling faeces? Not Diarrhea as such but very smelly? My son has had several bouts of this recently & its hard to distinguish if he has picked up some kind of bug or if its a reaction to the meds.

i have a 19 month old daughter and i think she may have diabetes for some time now, i have taken her to the doctors about it but they didin't want to prick her finger and test her blood and gave me a very small pot to try and catch a small bit of her urine to test but it is impossible to catch anything with a girl as it just dribbles down her legs.she has a few symptoms of diabetes, she is always thirsty and wants drink after drink and it doesn't matter what it is that she's drinking, she gets quite tired a lot, she is soaking through in her nappies all the time from constantly passing urine but thats proberly from the amount of juice shes drinking but soaks through in the night a lot also.she get very sweaty when ever shes sleeping.she also gets itchy pits sometimes and scratches when shes in the bath, she also seems to get poorly quite a lot and very easily.does it seem like she has it or could it be something else? because my doctors are never very helpful.

You need to get her tested right away and even the finger prick will only hurt for a minute. It could cause her serious health problems if left untreated. if you are not satisfied with your Gp get a new one or ask for a second opinion or referral. There is a cream that can be given to numb the are before the prick test and why this has not been given or done is beyond me. Demand more from your gp

im 13 and those where alot of symptoms i had but it took over a year for me to finaly be diagnosed if your doctors wont listen to you go to your closest childrens hospital and explain hope this helps x
