Hi My daughter had a cornflake sized one by her inner eye and three smaller ones just under the bottom lip plus five or six on her hands when she was 2 - 3yrs - the hands and chin ones were treated with acid applied twice week for 6 wks but the one by her eye couldn't be touched. They lasted about 8 months but she is free from ALL now. Apparently as a babe her immune was low which made her open to the virus. I am sure your son's will dissapear suddently. :)

make sure you have an inhaler for him or her and try to make sure he or she has a lot of rest

Yes, I was 35 and went down with HFMD. I caught it of my nephew who was just over 2 years old. Luckily I didn't have any sores in my mouth or around my face, I just hand really sore hands and feet with nasty blisters and the bottom of my feet wen bright red and then black and remained like that until the skin all peeled off. Since then I have ad really dry feet but surprisingly my brother and sister in law, mother and father, partner no any of my sister in laws family contracted it and they all had close contact at the time. My Docotr had never seen a case so bad in an adult he actually took photos of my hands and feet.

My 7 year old daughter has a small lump on her jaw line which is quite tender and also her tonsils are up, she is also cutting new teeth. Our GP has said it is a swollen gland due to her teeth but I am still worried about this lump it is only on the right hand side nothing on the left could you please give me your opinion and how long should I wait for it to go away before maybe returning to GP for another look. Thank you very much Paula

so what would be a good cream to use ??

its not nice when you have worms i understand i have had them a few times myself and what is morw embarressing is that they seem to only be recognised in children and not so common in adolescent,, so although it is embarressing and scary you can get over the counter treatment from boots or see your doctor and get a prescription. dont worry about what other people think because no one needs to know but you. its good that you have told your mum but a shame she doesnt seem to be helpeing you. i am going to give you my advice on what i do when i have worms,, i dont tell anyone because like you i worry what people will think! i would get to the doctors as soon as possible and get treatment than i would be as strict as you can with hygiene, wash your hands before and after the toilet, and as often as possible. when you wake up in the morning before you do anything wash your hands and avoid putting your hands and fingers in your mouth, so NO biting nails and wash hands before applying make up or touching your lips. i also tend to have a clean around the house as you may have touched a few things when you were infected. i hope what i have said helps and really try not to worry it is ok, threadworm is so common x x

my daughter of 5 was the same she had ultra sound and her belly is full of swollen glands.. still dont no why

I had it when I was little,Mum took me to the doctors. They gave us tablets for the whole family. They said that you should change your underwear often and bedclothes. Wash it 60 degrees. Wash your hands often with soap and scrub under your nails. Its very common and will disappear once you are treated by the right medication, keep your hands clean and have a proper diet.

Hi ,my son went through exactly the same. They gave him penicillin and the had and allergic reaction to it!My friend said she used corlum pellets and they really help! Good luck, hope she gets better soon.

My daughter has exactly the same thing. She also had fever and was in so much pain. Antibiotics were not working. After numerous visits to the doctors ,blood tests and mouth swabs it was confirmed she had a nasty virus called gingivostomatitis. It was a 10 day contagious virus. Only contagious through saliva. So if you share cups, kiss etc. perhaps this is what your child had. Might be Worthing reading up about it cause doctors said once they have this they are then very prone to getting cold sores and mouth ulcers from here on. This all happened back in January 2014 and now (March 2014) we have had her on medication for more ulcers but they have cleared up quickly.

Hi my daughter is 9 this year in may, about 6 months ago she developed a swollen breast and during xmas 2013 this had grown an she now has pubic hair, mood swings and emotional outbursts she is very body conscious, can this be a start of puberty happening and if so is there a rough estimate as to when she will start her 1st period?

Hi Hayley. Absolutely - this is puberty and quite normal. Difficult to predict when the first period will happen. Just be prepared to talk over it with her. Take care.

I have never suffered from Eczema before until recently. I now suffer from it on the palms of my hands. When it flairs up covers both hands which first become really itchy and then blistered and finally they become cracked and sore. Once they heal up it starts all again almost instantly. I have tried creams prescribed by the doctor. At the moment I am using elocon cream as well as emollient cream but it does not seem to control it at all. I have changed all cleaning products, washing products, make up but nothing I have worn rubber gloves, cotton gloves plastic gloves but I have no control at all. It is really effecting me and is really getting me down. I cant imagine having to live the rest of my life with this. Please someone help.

My daughter has recurring conjuntivitus, swollen sore watery eyes. She's been seen in an emergency eye clinic. The said her eyes are healthy, and they think the eye area goes bad due to a type of eczema, because she also has dandruff , and eczema on her ears. She is 9years old and suffers from eczema, allergies, hay fever and mild peanut allergy. Please can you give advise, this has been going on for over a year and we are concerned as parents.

might not be pinworms - sounds like piles, when you get a little constipated you can damage yourself on the inside which swells with blood and can feel like a stabbing pain. the moving sensation can be the swollen lump moving around inside (it tickles and hurts, a lot)- a bit like varicose veins in your anus. A doctor can prescribe pile creams or you can buy stuff over the counter but you do need to speak to the GP to make sure. Hope this helps!

Hello my son who is 6 has been diagnosed with initially having constipation. However this seems to be having ongoing issues. He is on two sachets of movicol each day which helps him to go to the toilet. However his belly is always swollen and hard and he is constantly having accidents that he is unaware of both wee and faeces. His faeces is extremely sticky and abnormal when he does go to the toilet and he is also very gassy. Apparently my GP has done one tested for coeliac disease with a blood test. Would this be conclusive?? I am desperate for help for him as it is becoming embarassing for him now he is getting older
