I would go to the doctor if I were you, as this could simply be a phrase or could be a symptom of a much more serious illness

Does your daughter eat sugary foods often like sweets, chocolate or even crisps. this could be the problem. if these terrible ulcers dont go away soon ask your doctor if they could check them out and prescribe her something. Hope this helped (:

I have the answer!!! I was a sufferer from mouth ulcers for many years, having 6 at a time which would all grow into one big one, I was even part of a clinical trial to try to find out why they recur. I spent many years in agony as that is what an ulcer puts you in. Eventually I found my own cure. I was told about an article in a magazine which said if you ate Marmite regularly it would get rid of them. I tried it and have not had an ulcer since. I eta marmite on toast a couple of times a week. I swear by it and everybody who suffers the pain of ulcers should give it a go. I think it is down to the high vitamin B content but it definitely does work. Take it from a fellow sufferer, give it a go and prove it to yourself.

I think you could be right about the Marmite! My 8 year old often gets mouth ulcers (usually just one at a time but extremely painful). He eats Marmite regularly, but we haven't had it for a couple of months as our supermarket has had difficulty in getting it for a while (we live in Greece). A really painful ulcer has started today. He usually gets them mainly during the summer time and when I think about it, we don't eat a lot of Marmite then as we consider it a winter beverage! Marmite contains B vitamins and folic acid (among many other nutrients) which a lack of, are said by some, might be the cause of these painful ulcers. I'm now convinced and thank you sincerely for making me think about this!

I suffer terrible with mouth ulcers getting between 10-20 at anyone time, & they are very painful & I would get them several times a month. I have been to the docs for tests but all came back ok however when I was pregnant 3 years ago I began taking multi vitamins & cod liver oil & didn't get 1 ulcer, I put this down to being pregnant, so after the pregnancy I stopped taking the vitamins & the ulcers returned to their angry self!! I then bought some cheap multi vitamins and cod liver & thankfully it's worked I don't get the ulcers as often or as severe as I have in the past. If I forget to take my vitamins I always know as I will get an ulcer!! I assume that I must b deficient some vitamin!!

I have white ulcer looking sores on the tip of my foreskin. They burn when I urinate. I have been using a lot of soap in that area lately and also my girlfriend gives me hand jobs she uses this body lotion for lubrication and I noticed sometimes it would make the tip of my penis feel hot but never thought anything of it. Now these little sores have appeared and are causing me agony to urinate.

Hi Andrew. It's not recommended to use lots of soap when washing your bits. Keep it clean using water only. There are specialist products widely available to be used as lubricants during sex. Buy some of these and stop using body lotions! The agony during urination will then probably clear up in a week or so. During this time, abstain from sex, wear simple underwear that will keep your bits from moving about and change them every day. Good luck

I am a 55 year old lady who for the past few months have had heartburn each day for no particular reason. The burning sensation is in my chest area usually between my breasts and is more severe after and during eating meals and sometimes just out of the blue for4 no particular reason at all. I have mentioned this to my G.P. but he just said it is something that will go away on it's own. I have been taking long term medication for an on going problem for many years now and so I wonder if this has any thing to do with this matter, or4 possibly if I may have an ulcer? Any information would help, thanking you Chris

I had an endoscopy and found i had a hiatus hernia. my doctor pescribed ranitidine tablets and take gaviscon liquid ,once in the morning and at least ,2 hours before bed. I still have heartburn ,but the condition has improved ,also coffee ,spicy foods and stress can add to the condition.

Get some bonjela or igluu, they are both mouth ulcer treatments. Igluu you can buy over the counter at somewhere like boots. Apply a little bit every night until the ulcers go away. Or as a cheaper alternative, you can create a salt saline. Mix 3 teaspoons of salt with a good splash of luke warm water and just make your daughter gurgle it around her mouth, but don't let get swallow it as it tastes horrible. Hope this helps

I've also had mouth ulcers for years and I also have a daughter who is really suffering. Personally, I find using a toothpaste with a high level of bicarbonate of soda really makes a difference and that anbesol (which really stings when you put it on) really numbs them and makes it easier to eat. My daughter was prescribed Diflam spray for a sore throat which also numbed them for her. I try to avoid baked beans, tomatoes and chocolate when I have a mouth ulcer - they are nippy!

I think you could be right about the Marmite! My 8 year old often gets mouth ulcers (usually just one at a time but extremely painful). Hi i have ben a sufferer for years and was told by a specialist that it was lack of B vitamins caused by stress and was prescribed 50mg of pyrodoxine and 100mg of thiamine twice daily which realy does work, infact on days when i am busy and forget to take them i develope an ulcer almost right away. These vitamins realy work for me. As for which foods i should avoid, i,ve never realy worked that out...hope this is helpfull as i know the horrible pain of these things. Another thing that i have found with ulcers that may be of intrest to other sufferers is that they seem to get realy almost unbearable just before they go away

i am 16 and i have been getting ulcers for years now, at the moment iv got one that is a 1cm and is extremely painful iv had it for over a week and its just going worse developing smaller ulcers on top of it, i cant eat drink brush my teeth open my mouth or talk the pains that bad it causes me to burst into tears i have to put myself through this pain to drink water but i am only able to drink through a straw in the past iv tried bonjela, igloo, anbesol and other ulcer treatments none seem to work for me this time iv tried salt water - still wasnt working so i went the doctors and they gave me daktarin oral gel which still isnt helping. someone please help me iv not ate for 5 days
