hi my son started to get a couple of warts when he was about 3 years old, now he is 6 and has about 10 warts on his upper thigh near his genital area, i ve taken him to the doctors but they said hes too young to have the liquid nitrogen. i am really worried that they are going to spread, and cant help thinking that its my fault as i ve had small warts on my hands for years and think i may had passed this onto him. does anyone know by using clear nail varnish works and if this is going to be safe for my son?

hello...well warts on the hands are the same as verucas just they're in a different place. for starters try and make sure your son doesn't pick at them, because this causes them to spread - hence why the other wart croped up probably! my boyfriends a doctor and he says to clean the warts with some sort of disinfectant (tea tree, perfum as it had alcohol anything) and then to cover them with ducktape as this starves the warts of air (warts/verucas are basically concentrations of bacteria - the not so great type). also I've been told by a skin doctor that putting a banana skin (the flesh downward on the wart) and tapping it down for the night and changing every night helps. hope I have helped. good luck xx

I too have a 5 year old with a wart problem. She has eczema and the scratching from this has spread the warts; legs, all up the inner arm, wrists and small warts on warts on hands and fingers. Doctor said there is nothing she can do cause there is so many, be we have been referred to a child dermotologist in a couple of weeks. So am hoping there is something that can be done. Not only are a couple on her wrist painful cause she catches them all the time but she is consious of them espcially with the nice weather and wearing short sleeves - Fingers crossed!

Hi, my 3 year old son has facial warts, he has a larger wart to the side of his nose with a cluster of smaller warts surrounding it. He has now recently developed a wart on the end of his nose and one on his forehead, I'm looking for advice on how to remove these

Hi My daughter had a cornflake sized one by her inner eye and three smaller ones just under the bottom lip plus five or six on her hands when she was 2 - 3yrs - the hands and chin ones were treated with acid applied twice week for 6 wks but the one by her eye couldn't be touched. They lasted about 8 months but she is free from ALL now. Apparently as a babe her immune was low which made her open to the virus. I am sure your son's will dissapear suddently. :)

    I used bezuka warts/verrucas it's a liquid nitrogen dabber

Don't worry; warts and verrucas are contagious so they will spread. If you are that concerned, then go to a GP and get them removed. It won't be a problem for them.

My 20 year old son's back is covered in what look like small warts and also on his chest, he will not let me see them properly or go to the Doctors, could they be fibromas ? He has developed this the past couple of years since being at University.

Hello, I think your son might of caught something from his bed at university causing him to break out in warts. Even though he wont let you take him to the doctors i still advise that you try. Who knows, if you go to the doctors they could be gone in a matter of weeks! I have to ask does it hurt if he touches them? Glad i could help! Sam xx

My 8year old daughter had about 30 warts on her hands and legs and we tried everything from wartner to homeopathic remedies without success. She was also pretty small for her age as her body was concentrating all its'resources on fighting the warts. We started giving her a childrens vitamin tonic from boots called MINADEX to boost her system and over a 4 week period all the warts slowly faded away.We are in no doubt that this made the difference to our daughter and would urge anyone in a similar situation to give it a go and see if it is effective for you too.

I cured my sons warts with the white juice found in dandelion stalks. His cure took 2 weeks to rid him of about 100 warts, some cracked and bleeding.

My 15 year old son has had warts on his hands and feet since the age of 4. I have taken him to GP on numerous occassions and was always told that it is viral and they would go non their own. I was told not to go back as i was making a nuisance of myself. He was finally referred to Dermatolgy at the age of 11. They tries Ionto, cryotherapy and all sorts of weird and wonderful but useless remedies. at the age of 13 he had shingles because ot the stress of being bullied in school because oh his warts. He finally had a diagnosis in Jan 13 of CD4 T cell Deficiency and is going for a bone marrow transplant early this summer. The warts arestill spreading and he now has them in his mouth and lips.

I had warts on my hand when I was about 10 years old. It started as just one. I went to the doctor and tried many treatments creams where you apply them and let it dry and then file them once a week. Be very careful with these! They tell you not to pick them because they spead - surely filing them is the same thing. My warts spead and I ended up with loads of them on both hands. I used to be so embarressed! I think that I was in my late teenage years when they all cleared up (so there is some hope!!) My brother also had problems with warts on his legs. He went to the doctors and get some of them frozen. Please note that he only had a couple frozen and that seemed to wake up his immune system which got rid of the lot. If you have lots of warts or the doctors tell you there are too many I would suggest just freezing a couple of them at a time. (Also less pain!) Unfortunately I am now in my 30s and have started to get them again, on my feet this time! I have tried home freezing and various treatments but nothing has worked so far. Off to my GP next week so fingers crossed!!

I have a very simple cure for warts that doesn't leave a scar. My younger brother suffered for years with warts covering both knees. My mother decided to try a natural method to see if that would work as nothing else had worked. She got vitamin E capsules and just put a pin hole in one end and applied it to the warts morning and night for two weeks until they had completely vanished! I also had a planter wart at the time that had grown to the size of a five pence coin so I also tried the vitamin E treatment and it too vanished within two weeks. You can now buy vitamin E oil in a bottle, but I'm not sure if it is as effective as the actual capsules.

I am 12 years old, female, and I have 7 warts on my right hand and 2 on my left. There are 2 warts that are larger than the others and one of the goes around half of my nail. They are really embarrasing and I normally cover the larger two up with plasters when ever I go to school. My mum has rubbed raw meat on all of them, but only one has started to clear up. I think I have caught them from my friend who has had them all of his life. Is there anything that can clear them up really quickly?

Hey just to make ur life alot easer,, stop rubbing raw meet on em because that makes the worse. Chefs have to handle raw meat alot and becuse of that they get warts if u don't believe me look it up on the Internet.

I have just discovered that, two or three has been bleeding for a week now, one has gone, but the most embarrasing ones are still there. I'm going to my GP soon to find the best treatment to clear them up during the summer.

I Have The Same too, It is really annoying, and the doctor said he cant freeze it because it will damage my nailbed?

yes thats what he said to me aswell so i have just left them. i am considering doing it myself with the pointless wartner. but i have researched it and it said it is highly unadvisable. its not a nice virus to have as i have friends at school who keep thinking its because of bad hygiene or because i dont look after myself, but i keep telling them its because i have a weak immune system and its a virus. but either way its really changing my life for the worst.

I have had warts for 6 years. and all together (hands and feet) i have around 30 warts. when people ask what they are i say they are scabs. i have tryed many methods but nothing works they just grow. the doctor said that they will go shortly and i will grow out of them but that was 2 years ago. i have even tryed to strenthen my immune system with vitamins but nothing works. they are painful and and i just want them to go!!! any suggestions

bananas! my son from the age of 4 had 7 warts on his hands; for 2 years we tried all over the counter medicine. Then - we applied duct tape every night, with a plaster over the top (he removed the plasters to go to school so other kids wouldn't notice). Still - no difference. *Then* I read about banana peel: every night for 2/3 weeks, after his bath i cut up small pieces of banana skin, put them on the wart and taped over with a plaster to hold the banana skin in place overnight on the wart. Removed the plaster in the morning. Did this without fail every night. After 2/3 weeks the warts had gone black, completely shrunk - and within a month his skin was as good as new. Apparently it's the potassium in the banana - may not work for everyone but certainly worked on some warts that had been persistent for 2 years.
